Place the Keycaps Beginner Guide
Place the Keycaps is a Roblox sorting experience currently in beta. The main objective is to identify loose keycaps, organize them by keyboard section, and place them in the correct empty positions.
Launch the Experience
Open the official Roblox experience page and select Play. Roblox Player will open automatically or prompt you to install it before joining.
Inspect the Keyboard
Look over the empty keyboard before sorting the pile. Identify the letter rows, number row, modifier positions, function row, navigation cluster, and large special-key spaces.
Choose a Clear Keycap
Start with a keycap whose label and shape are easy to recognize. Large keys such as Spacebar, Enter, Shift, Backspace, and Ctrl are usually faster to identify than small punctuation keys.
Match the Label and Size
Compare the printed legend and physical width of the keycap with the available keyboard slots. Use the interaction prompt shown in the experience to pick up and place it.
Complete One Section at a Time
Finish a small group such as the letter keys or number row before moving to another section. This keeps the remaining pile easier to scan.
Clear Difficult Keycaps
Press Q to throw a held keycap when it is blocking your view or does not belong in the section you are currently completing. Continue until the keyboard collection is complete.
Place the Keycaps Keycap Sorting Guide
A large mixed pile becomes easier to manage when it is separated into functional groups. Use these categories as temporary sorting zones around the keyboard.
Letter Keys
Separate letters first, then divide them into the QWERTY, ASDF, and ZXCV rows. Keeping each row together reduces repeated searching.
Number Row
Keep the horizontal number row separate from any navigation or numeric-cluster keys. Place the sequence from left to right.
Modifier Keys
Check both the legend and key width. Several modifiers have left-side and right-side positions that look similar but may use different sizes.
Function Keys
Create a separate function-row group and arrange the numbered keys in order before placing them along the top of the keyboard.
Navigation Keys
Keep navigation keys together beside the main typing area. Arrange the arrows in their familiar inverted-T shape.
Large Special Keys
Sort these by physical shape and width. Their larger slots make them useful landmarks for locating nearby smaller keys.
Place the Keycaps Controls and Keybinds
The official experience description lists Q for throwing keycaps and Ctrl for unlocking the mouse. Additional Roblox controls and device-specific gestures can be checked from the in-experience Help menu.
Place the Keycaps Keyboard Layout Guide
Keyboard slots are easiest to recognize by row and function. The sequences below cover the main typing area, function row, modifiers, navigation keys, and arrow cluster used when organizing a standard desktop-style keyboard.
The uppermost row. Arrange the F-keys in numerical order from left to right.
The row directly above the letters. Backspace is the wide key at the far right.
Tab begins the row, followed by QWERTY and the bracket keys.
Caps Lock anchors the left side and Enter anchors the right side.
The letter and punctuation keys sit between the two wider Shift keys.
The Spacebar occupies the large center slot, with Ctrl, Windows, Alt, and menu keys placed around it.

Place the Keycaps Completion Guide
The official objective is to sort a pile of keycaps and complete your keyboard collection. Finishing every placement also satisfies the requirement for the Sorted All Keycaps achievement.
Inspect the Empty Keyboard
Before moving caps, look over the keyboard layout and identify the function row, number row, letter rows, modifiers, and separated key clusters.
Expose the Keycap Pile
Move large caps and obvious pieces first so smaller caps underneath become visible. Press Q when you need to throw an obstructing keycap away from the center of the pile.
Complete the Easy Letter Rows
Place clearly labeled alphabet keys in keyboard order. Finishing long letter sequences quickly creates more space for sorting the remaining pieces.
Place Numbers and Function Keys
Sort number-row caps separately from F1-F12 caps. Use both the printed legend and the position of the empty slot.
Match Modifiers by Side and Size
Handle Ctrl, Alt, Shift, Enter, Backspace, and Spacebar carefully. Repeated modifier names may have left-side and right-side positions, while larger caps only fit specific slots.
Finish Separated Key Clusters
Check navigation, arrow, and other isolated areas shown on the in-game board. Match arrow caps by direction and special caps by their legends.
Perform a Final Pile and Floor Check
Scan the keyboard for empty outlines, then inspect the original pile area and nearby floor for caps that were thrown or pushed aside. Press Ctrl when you need to unlock the mouse for easier inspection.
Place the Keycaps Achievements and Badges
Badges are awarded through Roblox when their in-game requirement is completed. The official Place the Keycaps experience page displays the badge description, rarity rating, and award totals.
